This policy explains how De Waard collects personal data, both online and offline, and how we use that data.

Please read this privacy policy carefully. You will then know whether you wish to consent to De Waard’s use of your personal data. De Waard collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

In general, we collect data about you when you sign up for our newsletter and when you use our websites, apps and social media.

We use this and other data to provide you and our other users with better service, marketing and support (including by analysing your data to ensure a personalised experience). For example, when you create an account, purchase a product or contact us by phone, we may ask for your consent to use your data for certain purposes. Through its sites, De Waard provides a lot of information about camping, the environment that goes with it and the products we sell.

If you subscribe to De Waard’s newsletter we will store your personal data to send you newsletters from time to time. These are the purposes of data collection. If you leave details to make an enquiry we will retain your personal data for the period we are processing your enquiry and only for the purpose of contacting you about it.

This makes De Waard a data controller (i.e. an organisation responsible for the processing of personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation) in relation to all data that De Waard collects and receives about you when you use our services. De Waard is bound by and uses your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, which will be in place on 25 May 2018.

Cookies
Like many other sites, we use cookies (small text files placed on your computer by our website) and tracking tools.

We collect your data in several ways:

1. Directly from you.
For example, when you subscribe to a newsletter, a promotion, create an account, enter a competition or free prize draw or buy a product, post a comment on our websites, ask us a question, email us or contact De Waard by phone.

2. Through your use of our websites and apps.
You may view and use our websites and apps via a computer, phone, tablet or other device. We use tracking tools such as browser cookies and web beacons on our websites and apps to collect data about your usage.

3.From third parties.
For example, if you choose to use an integrated social media feature on our sites or apps, the site of this social media will provide us with certain information about you, such as your name and email address. Your activities on our sites and apps may be posted on the social media platforms.

Data we may hold about you
We use the following data for the purposes described in this policy:

1. Your contact and account details.
We retain the contact details you provide (for example: first and last name, gender, year of birth, street and house number, postcode, city, country and email address) when you create an account with De Waard, purchase a product and/or participate in our competitions or promotions.

Your payment and billing details.
We store the payment and billing information you provide for the processing of your order, e.g. your credit card number and postal code when you purchase a product.

3. Data posted by you online.
For example, we store data that you have posted on our website or on an external social media site to which we have access (such as reviews posted by you or completed surveys). When posting data online, the rights of others should not be infringed (including the right to privacy) and you should be aware that others may use, ‘tag’ and/or republish your data in ways you would not expect (including in ways that are unlawful).

You understand that we and others may use and republish your publicly posted data online. This includes data you have posted on our website or when using apps or social media features. However, De Waard cannot take responsibility for the third parties’ further use of your personal data if you place an order, purchase products or otherwise share your personal data directly with those third parties afterwards.

Data about your preferences
We may collect data about your favourite activities or products or because you have shown interest in something (for example, as part of a survey or your review). We may also retain data about interests and demographic categories that we aflect from your interaction with us, in order to provide you with a better service and to provide you with more targeted information. For example, when you buy a product for a special outdoor activity, we may send you information about this specific outdoor activity.

We may, when you visit our website, collect data about the browser you use and your IP address (this is a number that identifies specific network devices on the internet and that your device needs to communicate with websites). We can see which site you came to us from, what you did and did not do on our site and which site you visit when you have left our site.

We may use your data in the following ways and for the following purposes
1. To provide you with products, services, account information and support.
For example, we may use your data to process your order, provide service and communicate with you about your order, service request or newsletter subscription.

2. To send you messages related to your transaction and events attended by you.
For example, we may send you an e-mail about your account or the purchase of a product or ask you – through third parties – to write a review about a purchase. In addition, we may send you an e-mail to alert you to an event or showroom event organised by De Waard that may be of interest to you based on the product(s) you have already purchased.

3. To identify trends and interests.
We use your data to know what your preferences might be so that we can improve our offer to you and so that your experience with us is more targeted and personalised.

4. Monitoring and improving our products, services and websites.
We analyse your data to improve our understanding of you and our relationship file in general. We do this to use it to make better decisions about our services, advertising, products and content of our site and newsletters, based on a more informed picture of how our customers use our current services and to make your experience with us more personalised.

You have certain choices about how we use your data
When you create an account or purchase products, we may also later seek your consent to collect, process or use personal data for speciic purposes. If you wish to withdraw the consent you have provided to us for such use of your personal data, or if you wish to view or change your data write to us or notify us of your preferences via the email address info@dewaardtenten.nl

In addition to writing, you may unsubscribe in the following ways:

1. You can unsubscribe from receiving marketing messages.
To stop receiving promotional emails or text messages, follow the instructions in any promotional message received, change your details in your personal De Waard account or email info@dewaardtenten.nl. Even if you opt out of receiving marketing messages, we may still send you messages in response to completing our contact form or after you have otherwise made a request to us. Otherwise, we will not be able to process your request.

2. You can unsubscribe from receiving our newsletters.
To stop receiving our newsletters adjust your account settings, change your details in your personal De Waard account, follow the instructions provided in each newsletter from us or email info@dewaardtenten.nl.3

3. You can request us to grant access to the data we have stored about you.
You can also request us at info@dewaardtenten.nl to amend the data or delete your personal data completely. Within your personal De Waard account, you can also see what information about you is known to us and change it.

We may share your data with the following third parties
1. Inside De Waard
We may share all your data with our brand store under the same purposes set out in this policy, but not for other purposes unless you have given your explicit consent to do so

2.Third parties.
We will only share your data with a third party if you have given your explicit consent. Otherwise, we do not.

3. Third parties providing goods and services purchased by you.
Your data may also be shared with any third parties providing goods and services you have purchased through our website, so that they can process and fulfil your orders (including by contacting you).

4. If we believe it is necessary to comply with laws and regulations or to protect ourselves or third parties.
To the extent permitted by law, we may also share data at the request of a government agency or other authorised body or organisation to protect or enforce our rights or those of a third party or for the detection and prevention of fraud (including credit card fraud and fraud that we believe has occurred while visiting our megastores or visiting our websites) and other criminal offences.
We use standard security measures. We have appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to protect personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. The standard security measures we use depend on the nature of the data collected. Please bear in mind that the internet is not 100% secure. We cannot promise that your use of our sites will be completely secure. We recommend that you exercise caution when using the internet. This includes not sharing your passwords.

All requests for information to info@dewaardtenten.nl must be accompanied by a valid identification of the requester, where the responsible administrator may verify the identity of the requester, to protect the privacy of data subjects in the event of any unidentified requests.

De Waard has registered its data processing with the privacy regulator, the Dutch Data Protection Authority, under number 1594041. De Waard reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy. Any amendment will be announced on this page. De Waard therefore recommends checking this page regularly to see whether any changes have been made. The current Privacy Policy was updated on 1 February 2018 and already adapted to the upcoming entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation on 25 May 2018.

Various cookies may be set via our website. These include the website www.dewaardtenten.nl. Below we explain what cookies are, what they do, which cookies are used on the De Waard and why.

What do cookies do?
Cookies are small (text) files that a webpage server places on your computer, tablet or other electronic device (hereinafter “computer”) when you visit a webpage. Functional (necessary) cookies

These are our own cookies and can only be read by authorised employees of De Waard. De Waard does not share the data it collects with third parties, save where required to do so.

Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies record how visitors use our website. This information can be used to analyse the use of our website and generate statistics. This allows us to better understand our website visitors and use that knowledge to improve the website. For this purpose, we use the service Google Analytics. In that context, analytical cookies are placed via our website by the provider of this service: Google Inc. Based on the data collected with these cookies, Google compiles anonymous reports for De Waard regarding the use of our website.

We have set the Google Analytics cookies ‘privacy-friendly’, in line with the manual on this subject from the Personal Data Authority. As a result, we process less data from you. Google is not authorised to use the information obtained for other (Google) services. Google only obtains anonymised information where, for example, your IP address is not included.

Social media cookies

To allow visitors to our websites to share content, we have placed social media buttons on these websites, including a Facebook and Twitter share. By using this share option, cookies may be placed on your computer. These cookies may include functional cookies that enable the social media options, as well as analytical cookies. Both Facebook and Twitter may use these cookies and the information collected with them for their own purposes. Please refer in this regard to the privacy policies of Facebook and Twitter and any other social media programmes.
The cookies related to social media are not placed or read by us, but by the relevant social media provider. We have limited knowledge of and no control over these cookies. We therefore accept no responsibility or liability for these social media cookies or for how the social media providers handle the information collected.

Tracking cookies

With your consent, we place cookies on your computer, which can be retrieved as soon as you visit De Waard’s websites. When you use our websites, we collect (part) of your IP address, browser type, operating system and application version, language settings, the page through which you came to our website and the pages of our website you visited. We also collect information about the response to e-mail messages. If you visit our website via a mobile device, we also collect information about the brand of your mobile device and other specific characteristics of the device.

The profile built up as a result is not linked to your name, address, email address and the like, but only serves to tailor content to your profile so that they are as relevant to you as possible.

Refusing and deleting cookies

You have the right to request De Waard to provide you with access to your personal data – processed by De Waard as controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation – and/or (where applicable) to correct, supplement, delete or block them. All requests for information to info@dewaardtenten.nl should be accompanied by a valid identification of the requester, where the responsible administrator may verify the identity of the requester, to protect the privacy of data subjects in case of any unidentified requests.
