Building a luxury glamping tent explained in five steps
How is a luxury
glamping tent constructed?
As a campground owner, you’ve probably set up your own tent at one time or another. A few strong pegs, a fine hammer and a decent tent (preferably with a some sunshine), and the tent is up in no time. For a luxury glamping tent, a some sunshine is also nice, but building these accommodations requires a bit more time and is a bit more work. A succesfull build starts with good perparations, four to five strong guys (or ladies!), and then construction can begin, and construction can begin, by following the following 5 steps:
This is the building process in five steps:
Step 1: Constructing the decking
If you want your glamping tent to be solid as a rock, you’ll need to build a solid foundation for it. In this case a good quality deck. It’s important to make sure the decking is the same shape as the tent’s footprint and that the correct materials are used. Besides that water lines, electricity and sewage need to be connected as well.
Step 2: Frame installation
When the decking is completely finished, we can construct and place the frame. This step is somewhat similar to
the approach to a camping tent: the “tent poles,” or frame parts, are installed piece by piece. It is important that the baseplates be mounted flush in the decking so that water can drain properly.
Step 3: Placement of the canvas
Now it’s time to place the canvas. The canvas is prepared for placement, prepared and then placed. Once the canvas is in place, now we line out the canvas so the sections line up nicely.
Step 4: Mounting the insulation
Insulation is optional, but it does offer some important benefits. It makes the tent very nice and light to the inside, but is especially valuable for its insulating effect: this allows you to rent out the tent earlier in the year and into later fall. Nice for campers who want to vacation in the off-season, and of course, for you, because it means more potential rental weeks!
Step 5: Installing the fixture
Once everything – the decking, frame, tent canvas and insulation – is in place, the tent can be transformed into a cool rental accommodation. That means a nice floor, the installation of the interior walls, and finally, the interior. A fine table, chairs, beds and a nice couch really make it a luxury glamping tent!
